Community Land Trust - Affordable Homes
On Thursday, October 26th at 6:00 pm, the newly built home at 638 41st Street in Northwood became the set for the premier showing of “Off- Broadway’s West Side Story”. Jeanetta Watts, one of Palm Beach County’s first Community Land Trust homebuyers and star of the show received the red carpet treatment as she stepped out of her chauffeured limousine and was greeted by adoring fans and the paparazzi.
The premier’s main attractions were 13 affordable homes offered by the Northwood Renaissance Community Land Trust. Local officials and the public were invited to take a home tour while enjoying popcorn, cotton candy, and soda. Jeanetta's co-stars included members of the Palm Beach County Community Land Trust Collaborative, who showcased affordable home ownership opportunities in Palm Beach County.
The evening’s highlight included the Academy’s award presentation to Jeanetta Watts for best performance by a first-time homebuyer.
