Neighborhood Renaissance is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit development corporation dedicated to breathing new life into economically distressed neighborhoods by creating workforce housing opportunities, jobs, and small business prospects for low and moderate income persons.  Our current goals include the preservation of affordable homes through a community land trust, the development of affordable homeownership and rental opportunities, and mixed-use residential and commercial development.

Community driven, our approach to community revitalization is comprehensive and based on sound urban planning principals.  We work in partnership with community stakeholders to solve neighborhood planning issues, renovate troubled properties, create workforce housing, complete neighborhood improvements, facilitate business development and encourage job creation.  We believe that healthy neighborhoods support vibrant business and commercial districts.

Founded as the Northwood Business Development Corporation in 1992 by local property owners, businesses and residents concerned about the decline of Northwood's downtown district our early focus was on new business recruitment and the retention of existing businesses.  In 1998 we expanded our mission to include neighborhood revitalization and affordable housing development and later became known as Northwood Renaissance.  Recently we have expanded our mission beyond the West Palm Beach city limits to include the revitalization of other needy communities in Palm Beach County. In that spirit we have changed our name to Neighborhood Renaissance.
